Jaspers Wisconsin Cheddar Biscuits

  • Ingredients
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 4 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Crisco Shortening
  • 3/4 cup Milk
  • 1 cup Hennings Cheddar (Grated)
  • Topping:
  • 3 Tbs Butter
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder

Preheat oven to 375°. Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a large bowl. Cut in shortening. Add milk a little at a time and then add cheddar cheese and stir gently with a wooden spoon, mixing just until dough holds together.
Drop batter by heaping tablespoonfuls onto prepared cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Take the biscuits out of the oven.
Melt 2 TBS. butter is a small bowl in microwave. Stir in garlic powder. Use a brush to spread garlic butter over the tops of all the biscuits.
Jaspers Notes: Easy and quick, these drop biscuits are a must have recipe! They are filling and delicious & you can serve them on the side of just about anything. I love them with a bowl of tomato soup! DELICIOUS!!!
