Email Hen House Market - Jasper mirabile
* although we try to be as accurate as possible with all nutritional data, some of the ingredient data may be slightly higher or lower due to data availability. This label is for 5 oz meat and 1 bun. I did not have nutritional info. for Jasper’s sauce.
Sloppy Giuseppes'
1 1/2 Lb Hen House Ground Chuck
1 Tb. olive oil
1 med. onion diced
1 green pepper diced
1 jalapeno minced
1 Tsp. brown sugar
Tabasco to taste
2 1/2 Cups Jasper's Marinara Sauce*
1 TB. Grated Romano cheese
4 Roma Bakery Buns ( lightly buttered and toasted)
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, saute the Hen House ground chuck in oil until browned. Add the onion and bell pepper, saute for 5 more minutes. Drain oil. Mix in Jasper's Marinara Sauce. Stir in garlic, jalapeno, Tabasco to taste and brown sugar. Continue to heat for 5 to 10 minutes, or until mixture thickens. Mix in cheese and place mixture on toasted buns.

Jasper's Notes: My cousin in Sicily is a real "Sicilian Cowboy" and when I was younger he visited Kansas City and made this dish one cold winter night for all the grandchildren. It was such a hit that it is now a favorite in my home. Salute Cousin Giuseppe In Sicily!!!
