Barbecued Shrimp
2 pounds medium to large shrimp, rinsed
Barbecued Shrimp
1/2 cup butter
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
3 tablespoons spicy barbecue sauce
1 bay leaf
2 clove garlic, crushed
1/2 teaspoon dried leaf basil
1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
In a large skillet, heat the oil and butter until butter melts. Add shrimp; sauté 3-4 minutes. Add remaining ingredients; stir to mix well. Simmer, stirring frequently, over low heat, about 3 to 4 minutes. Remove from heat, cover, and let stand for 5 minutes. Place shrimp into a serving dish; pour sauce over the shrimp. Serves 4-6
Jasper's Notes: Give guests large napkins and bibs, and invite them to "peel 'em and eat 'em."
Dunk crispy French or Italian bread into sauce and wash down with an ice cold beer!!!
