The Company
In 1923, Sidney and Mollie Ball started a small neighborhood grocery store on the corner of 16th and Stewart streets in Kansas City, KS.

Eighty years later, that humble beginning has evolved into a company that employs over 4,000 people. There have been many changes in our business since 1923. The one thing that hasn't changed, however, is our philosophy based on the words of Sidney Ball, that "Our grocery store is only as good as the people who work there."

We refer to our employees as teammates. We believe that if we take care of our teammates, they will take care of our customers by offering quality products in clean, sanitary conditions. Hen House has created facilities where customers are proud to shop and teammates are proud to work; with the best prices day in and day out.
