Create Fresh Floral Arrangements at Home

Use the following step-by-step instructions to create a florist

quality arrangement at home!

  1. Purchase one each of the following market bunches: Focal, Filler, or Accent
  2. Select a vase and add clean water and flower food.  When you start to arrange the flowers make sure that the leaved do not touch the water.  This will ensure a longer lasting arrangement.
  3. Start with your filler bunch to create a base, or collar, around the rim.  You will need to crisscross the stems for a stable base, making sure that the stems are long enough to touch the bottom of the vase.
  4. Cut focal flower stems so that they are one and a half times the height of your vase.  Begin inserting the focal flower in the center working out in a circular pattern.
  5. Fill the open spaces with your accent flowers.  Cut the stems so they are slightly shorter than your focal flowers.
  6. To enhance your arrangement, additional accent flowers will add color and texture.  For example, liatris will give your arrangement height.
